This program was made possible in partnership with The County of Hawai‘i and Hawai‘i Community Foundation. Its purpose was to enhance community capacity and resilience through Hawaiian Cultural classes and immersive experiences. Congratulations to this cohort for completing the program!

Youth attending this program engage with Hawaiian cultural practices and learning styles throughout two weeks each summer. They learn the skills and lessons essential for perpetuating Hawaiian cultural lifeways, including farming, fishing, sailing, hula, lua, chanting, mele and more.

We look forward to sharing more soon about our upcoming workshop series for 2026 called 'Ai me ka I'a (Fish and Poi) that focuses on community food sovereignty and incorporating cultural practices into farming, mālama ʻāina and environmental stewardship in Puna.
